Flexible Cables

Flexible electrical cables use multistranded copper conductors to accommodate bending in equipment connections and suitable installation routes.

Duara Group sources flexible cables for machinery, commercial installations, maintenance teams and industrial workshops. Numerous fine copper strands allow a conductor to bend more readily than a comparable solid wire, while insulation, sheath and strand arrangement influence the complete cable behaviour. Flexibility alone does not establish suitability for continuous movement, outdoor service, welding or immersion. We work from the equipment duty and installation environment before requesting an appropriate supplier specification.

Types and configurations

These are general cable construction options for specification discussions. The configuration, materials and performance of the proposed supply must be confirmed in the quotation; this list does not establish available sizes or stock.

Multistranded copper conductors

Fine strands support conductor flexibility. Strand class and termination compatibility must be confirmed; no strand count or conductor area is published as a supply specification.

Insulation and sheath choices

PVC and elastomeric materials are common industry options with different application limits. The material and environmental performance of any quoted flexible cable require verification.

Static bending versus repeated movement

A flexible cable suited to installation bends or occasional handling is not necessarily a continuous-flex cable for drag chains, torsion or robotic movement. Specify the actual motion duty.

Product specifications

No product-specific sizes, ratings or packaging have been documented for this cable. Request a supplier datasheet against the fields below before approving a quotation.

ParameterWhat to define
Conductor constructionRequest multistranded copper with the strand class, nominal area and termination requirements matched to equipment.
Core arrangementConfirm the number and identification of circuit and protective conductors; no configurations are documented as stocked.
Materials and performanceConfirm insulation and sheath, circuit rating, movement duty, environmental limits and required fire behaviour from the exact datasheet.
Supply lengthsSizes, lengths and packaging are quotation inputs; no range or standard pack length is confirmed.

Packaging and supply formats

  • Specify required lengths and whether cuts, coils or drums are needed. Packaging and length tolerances are confirmed in the quotation.

Origin and sourcing options

Duara Group coordinates cable sourcing, procurement and distribution for Kenya, East Africa and international buyers. We do not manufacture cables. Producer, origin, quantities and delivery arrangements are confirmed for each enquiry.

Documentation and certification

  • Request the proposed supplier datasheet and cable identification before approval.
  • Specify any inspection, test reports or product certification evidence required for the exact cable; these are confirmed per enquiry.
  • Include destination-specific documentation and the project specification in the purchase request.

Standards and qualification

No product certification, voltage rating, current rating, fire rating or temperature limit is claimed here. A qualified project designer must assess the proposed cable and applicable installation requirements.

Buyer requirements for quotation

  • Intended application and equipment or circuit details
  • Cable schedule, route lengths and quantity per configuration
  • Installation environment and any special performance requirements
  • Packaging, destination and requested delivery schedule
  • Required datasheets, acceptance tests and quotation terms

Cable selection and installation considerations

Defining movement and exposure

Describe bend frequency, travel, twisting, minimum operating bend and the support arrangement. Identify oil, abrasion, water, sunlight and contact with hot equipment. Request evidence for each relevant condition instead of inferring performance from a rubber-like sheath.

Selecting terminations and support

Fine-stranded conductors need terminals and connection methods approved for their strand class. Follow equipment instructions for ferrules or lugs, strain relief, bending at entries and protection against repeated stress at termination points.

Specifying equipment procurement

Provide equipment details, the approved connection diagram, circuit duty, core requirements and required lengths. We can coordinate bulk cable and accessory enquiries for Kenya and regional projects once the proposed construction is accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Does flexible mean suitable for continuous machine movement?

No. Occasional-flex and continuous-motion duties differ. State drag-chain, torsional or repeated-bending requirements and request a cable specifically assessed for that duty.

Why are flexible conductors made from many strands?

Small copper strands bend more readily than one solid conductor. Cable flexibility also depends on insulation, sheath and internal construction, so strand count alone is not enough for selection.

Can flexible cable replace welding or submersible cable?

Do not assume interchangeability. Welding and immersed pump duties have specific construction and operating requirements that must be verified separately.

Which sizes or core counts can I order?

No fixed size or core-count range is documented here. Send your required conductor areas and core arrangement for a supplier-confirmed quotation.

How should flexible cable be terminated?

Use terminals, ferrules or lugs approved for the actual conductor class and equipment, with appropriate strain relief. The selected manufacturer instructions determine the connection method.
