System and opening requirements
Windows, doors, shopfronts, partitions, façades and balustrades require different profiles, hardware and glass make-ups.
- Provide opening sizes, elevations and interface details
- State frame finish, sightline, drainage and hardware requirements
- Identify fixed, opening, sliding or access functions
Glass performance and safety
Thickness and make-up depend on panel size, support, location and required thermal, acoustic or safety behavior.
- State laminated, toughened, insulated, tinted or coated requirements where designed
- Provide wind, impact, guard or fire criteria from the project
- Request edge, heat-treatment or quality documentation where specified
Survey, fabrication and installation
Site dimensions, tolerances and adjacent trades must be coordinated before fabrication.
- Clarify who surveys and signs off openings
- Define sealants, gaskets, anchors, flashings and trims
- Plan protection, lifting, installation access and final inspection
Prepare the RFQ
Provide drawings, opening schedule, system type, aluminium profile and finish, glass make-up or performance criteria, hardware, interfaces, survey responsibility, installation scope, testing and delivery sequence.

Construction materials are supplied in project quantities, phased against the build programme.

No. Include system type, glass performance, frame finish, hardware, interfaces and installation scope, supported by elevations or details where possible.
Who should verify site dimensions?
The RFQ should state whether dimensions are design values or verified openings and identify who is responsible for the final site survey before fabrication.
What accessories should be included?
List gaskets, sealants, anchors, flashings, trims, hardware and any access or lifting provisions needed for a complete system.
