Welding Cables

Welding cables are flexible copper conductors used for the welding output circuit between the machine and suitable welding connections.

Duara Group sources welding cables for fabrication shops, construction contractors and industrial engineering workshops. High-strand-count copper conductors help operators position leads, while the complete cable construction must withstand its specified handling and workshop environment. Welding output leads are distinct from the equipment mains supply cable. Their selection depends on welding current, duty cycle, total output-circuit length and the proposed manufacturer data rather than on flexibility alone.

Types and configurations

These are general cable construction options for specification discussions. The configuration, materials and performance of the proposed supply must be confirmed in the quotation; this list does not establish available sizes or stock.

Fine-stranded copper output leads

Many fine copper strands support handling flexibility. Confirm conductor area, strand class and connector compatibility for the proposed product.

Insulation and protective covering

Elastomeric or rubber-type coverings are common welding-cable constructions, but the actual material and resistance to abrasion, heat, oils or spatter must be verified.

Electrode and work-return connections

The output circuit includes the electrode-side connection and a work-return lead. The work return must not be confused with protective earthing of the equipment.

Product specifications

No product-specific sizes, ratings or packaging have been documented for this cable. Request a supplier datasheet against the fields below before approving a quotation.

ParameterWhat to define
Welding operating dutyProvide the machine output-current range and duty cycle. No current rating or conductor-size range is documented.
Circuit lengthState electrode-lead and work-return lengths; the complete output circuit matters for losses and voltage drop.
Conductor and coveringSpecify flexible, high-strand-count copper construction; confirm insulation or sheath material and actual environmental limits.
Connections and procurementDefine lugs, connectors or clamps if required, cable lengths and quantities; bare cable does not imply an assembled lead set.

Packaging and supply formats

  • Specify required lengths and whether cuts, coils or drums are needed. Packaging and length tolerances are confirmed in the quotation.

Origin and sourcing options

Duara Group coordinates cable sourcing, procurement and distribution for Kenya, East Africa and international buyers. We do not manufacture cables. Producer, origin, quantities and delivery arrangements are confirmed for each enquiry.

Documentation and certification

  • Request the proposed supplier datasheet and cable identification before approval.
  • Specify any inspection, test reports or product certification evidence required for the exact cable; these are confirmed per enquiry.
  • Include destination-specific documentation and the project specification in the purchase request.

Standards and qualification

No product certification, voltage rating, current rating, fire rating or temperature limit is claimed here. A qualified project designer must assess the proposed cable and applicable installation requirements.

Buyer requirements for quotation

  • Intended application and equipment or circuit details
  • Cable schedule, route lengths and quantity per configuration
  • Installation environment and any special performance requirements
  • Packaging, destination and requested delivery schedule
  • Required datasheets, acceptance tests and quotation terms

Cable selection and installation considerations

Sizing output leads

Use the welding equipment instructions and the selected cable supplier tables for the required current, duty cycle and total circuit length. Higher-current or longer circuits can require different conductor areas, so one workshop size cannot be assumed suitable for all machines.

Managing workshop routing

Avoid sharp edges, vehicles, hot metal and concentrated heat. Follow equipment guidance on routing, cooling, cable arrangement and connection tightness. Flexibility or a tough-looking covering does not establish resistance to every workshop hazard.

Preparing a fabrication supply enquiry

State whether you need cable alone or a proposed lead assembly. Include machine details, operating duty, lead lengths, connector interfaces and workshop conditions, then request the exact cable specification and a quotation for the required quantity.

Specifications

Specifications vary by manufacturer and configuration. Confirm the points below when you enquire and we will quote against them.

Conductor or fibre specification and cable construction
Circuit or network duty and required performance
Installation method and environmental conditions
Route lengths, quantities and packaging
Required documentation and delivery destination

Applications

  • Manual welding-machine electrode and work-return leads as approved by the equipment maker
  • Industrial fabrication and steelwork workshops
  • Construction and engineering maintenance operations
  • Workshop procurement and replacement lead schedules

Frequently asked questions

Is welding cable the same as the machine mains supply cable?

No. This page concerns welding output leads. A mains connection must be specified against the equipment supply and installation requirements independently.

How does duty cycle affect welding cable selection?

Duty cycle affects heating over the operating period. Compare the machine duty and current with the proposed cable data, including lead arrangement and total circuit length.

Is the work-return lead a protective earth conductor?

No. It carries welding circuit current. Equipment protective earthing is a separate safety function and must follow the machine installation requirements.

Are connectors and clamps included with the cable?

No assembly is assumed. State whether you need cable alone, connectors or complete leads; any proposed assembly and compatibility are confirmed in the quotation.

Which welding cable sizes are documented?

No conductor-size range or ratings are confirmed here. Send the welding duty, machine details and lead lengths for a supplier-confirmed proposal.

Sourcing and export
