Chickpeas procurement guide
Chickpeas are commonly differentiated as desi or kabuli types, with seed calibre, colour and intended use affecting value. Whole cooking, canning, milling and hummus processing require different briefs.
Grain grade and cooking quality
State type, size or count, colour, moisture, foreign matter, splits, damaged seeds, insect damage and hydration or cooking-performance requirements.
Dry storage and shipment
Pack in clean moisture-resistant bags or bulk bags and protect from infestation and odour. Specify lot separation, palletisation and receiving constraints.
