Cut gerbera by cultivar, flower size and presentation, stem grade, colour, packing and handling requirements.
Gerbera is a cut-flower crop valued for its daisy-like flower heads and broad range of colours and presentations. Standard and smaller-flowered trade types should be defined through an actual cultivar or size specification rather than assumed to share a universal grade. Stem condition, flower maturity and head protection matter to wholesalers, florists and event programmes. Duara Group assesses the requested presentation, pack and route. Country-growing records identify documented cultivation and do not imply confirmed Duara grower relationships, a particular available colour mix or guaranteed vase life.

Gerbera buying guide
Trade type, cultivar and colour definition
Identify the cultivar or accepted commercial type, flower-head size requirements and the required colour programme. Mini, standard or other trade descriptions should be connected to an agreed specification rather than treated as universal size standards. If a mixed-colour purchase is acceptable, define the mix and any restrictions. Natural or declared treated colour needs to be clear. A photograph of an assortment does not establish the available cultivar or exact colour balance of an offered lot, so agree how substitutions and actual presentation will be approved.
Stem and flower-head quality
Assess stem straightness and strength, head condition, visible damage and the opening stage against the buyer's intended use. The apparent length of a stem is only one part of a useful floral specification. A stem with an acceptable length can still fail the required presentation if the flower head or stem condition is unsuitable. Define tolerances and a representative inspection basis with the proposed grower or packer. A premium label or a growing-country reputation cannot replace quality checks for the actual packed lot.
Opening stage and commercial application
Wholesalers, bouquet makers and event buyers may require different receiving presentation and preparation time. Explain the intended distribution or display use and agree the required flower stage, colour and usable stem presentation. Do not assume that the same harvest or packing description guarantees a fixed display result on an event date. If a particular head size or cultivar is important to a bouquet recipe, include it in the approval process. Changes in type, stem range or colour should follow explicit substitution rules rather than a generic equivalent-flower promise.
Head protection and box design
Gerbera flower heads and stems need suitable support and protection against mechanical damage during packing and distribution. Confirm the proposed head protection, bunching or individual presentation, box dimensions, orientation and declared stem count. Review compatibility with the planned loading and transfer process. A pack used for a short local route should not automatically be assumed suitable for a different export chain. Any hydration or postharvest treatment should be declared and assessed for the actual product and destination, without implying an unverified treatment or certification for Duara supply.
Handling, receiving and vase-life evidence
Obtain the actual cultivar or trade type's handling instructions and review temperature management, transfer points, pack protection and receiving facilities together. Agree how stem or head damage and other arrival defects will be assessed. Ask for vase-life evidence under stated conditions rather than presenting a generic number as a guarantee. The buyer's unpacking and subsequent care also affect performance. Plant-health requirements and import documents must be checked for the actual origin, product and destination; cultivation evidence does not establish that a particular consignment can legally enter every market.
Details for a gerbera supply inquiry
Provide cultivar or type, head size, colour or mix, stem length and condition, opening stage, pack, quantity, destination and receiving period. Include sample or actual-lot photographic approval, substitution rules, plant-health documents and customer requirements. Explain any event schedule or bouquet recipe that affects the specification. Duara reviews the proposed grower and workable route separately. The country directory documents production, not available stem counts, a confirmed partnership, fixed delivery times, universal grade definitions or guaranteed display performance from each listed origin.
Documented Production by Country
These are documented examples of gerbera cultivation or processing. Named operators are evidence of activity, not Duara partners. Undated statements are labelled as such; no national quantities, certifications or availability are inferred. Global country coverage remains partial.
These are dated production or manufacturing records, not a list of Duara suppliers or confirmed delivery destinations. The directory covers the evidence verified so far; it does not claim an exhaustive list of all producing countries.
Gerbera in Netherlands (Kingdom of the)
Holstein Flowers documents gerbera cultivation at two named De Lier nurseries. This is direct grower evidence; the company’s varieties and production scale are not Duara specifications or capacity.
