Lilies procurement guide
Lilies are supplied by type, stem length, bud count and bud maturity. Oriental, Asiatic and other groups differ in bloom size, fragrance and handling, so the group should be stated.
Stem, bloom and grade
Define group, colour, stem-length band, minimum bud count, bud stage, foliage quality and tolerances for damaged buds, weak stems, disease or staining.
Hydration, packing and arrival
Pack immature buds securely to prevent bruising and coordinate cooling, hydration and ethylene exposure controls. Pollen handling may be considered by the end user after opening.
