Carnations are bought by standard or spray type, stem length, bloom stage and colour programme. Stem count and grade should be separated by variety or colour in commercial orders.

Define type, colour, stem-length band, straightness, bloom count, opening stage and limits for split calyx, weak stems, pest marks or damaged petals.
Hydration, packing and arrival
Use sleeves and cartons sized to prevent head compression, with hydration and temperature control coordinated from packing through arrival. State bunch count, carton mix and treatment-document needs.
