Animal feed raw materials

Duara Group can source one ingredient or coordinate a schedule covering several raw-material groups. The buyer's approved formulation and specification determine the products requested.

Protein sources

Protein meals are sourced by product identity, processing method and analytical specification. Soya powder and canola powder must be defined because those names may describe different materials.

Fibre and roughage ingredients

Fibre sources vary by crop, milling process and storage condition. Buyers should state the intended animal class and limits for moisture, fibre, contaminants and particle size.

Oilseed by-products

Expeller cake and extracted meal are not automatically equivalent. Processing route, hull content, residual oil, protein and fibre should be confirmed for each source.

Concentrates, premixes and additives

Concentrates and micro-ingredients are matched to the animal class, feed stage, approved inclusion rate and destination-market registration requirements.

Feed types we support

The examples below help buyers organise an enquiry; they are not fixed formulas or feeding instructions. Ingredient selection and inclusion rates must follow a formulation approved by a qualified animal nutritionist or feed specialist.

Starting an animal feed business?

Tell us the animal type, feed type, expected monthly production, location, preferred ingredients, packaging and whether you need one or several inputs. We can source the raw materials required for your planned formulation and work with your specified ingredient list.

If you do not yet have a formulation, engage a qualified animal nutritionist or feed specialist first. Duara Group handles ingredient procurement once the formulation and specification are established; this page does not offer veterinary nutrition consultancy or certified-feed formulation.

Reliable raw material supply for feed manufacturers

Established manufacturers can request recurring procurement, monthly supply, large-volume orders, several ingredients in one schedule, alternative sources when usual suppliers are unavailable, import sourcing and appropriate consolidation.

Provide monthly tonnage, the approved specification, delivery location and required schedule. We will assess sources and confirm availability, quotation validity, documentation and delivery responsibilities for each ingredient.

Product specifications

Feed ingredients can be sourced against the following buyer-defined parameters. Exact values are not universal and are confirmed for the proposed source and transaction.

  • Crude protein and analytical basis
  • Moisture
  • Crude fibre
  • Fat or residual oil content
  • Ash
  • Particle size and form
  • Ingredient origin where required
  • Packaging
  • Mycotoxin limits where applicable
  • Microbiological requirements where applicable
  • Buyer-specific COA and test-method requirements

Packaging and supply

  • 25 kg bags
  • 50 kg bags
  • Jumbo or bulk bags
  • Loose bulk
  • Containerised supply
  • Truckload supply
  • Buyer-specified packaging where available

Available packaging depends on the ingredient, supplier, order volume, loading method, destination and receiving equipment.

Local and international sourcing

Duara Group can investigate suitable feed-ingredient sources in Kenya, East Africa and wider African markets, with international sourcing where the specification, volume or local availability requires it.

The quotation identifies the proposed source, origin where required, shipment basis, available documents and delivery scope. No origin or permanent stock position is assumed.

Frequently asked questions

What raw materials are used to make animal feed?

Feed formulations can use cereal energy sources, protein meals, milling by-products, fibre ingredients, oils or molasses, minerals, premixes and approved additives. The correct combination and inclusion rates must come from a qualified animal nutritionist or feed specialist.

What animal-feed ingredients can Duara Group source?

Duara Group can assess requests for maize and other cereals, soya meal, canola meal, sunflower cake or meal, bran and milling by-products, concentrates, premixes, minerals and additives. Final products, specifications and availability are confirmed before quotation.

Can Duara Group source multiple ingredients for one feed mill?

Yes. A buyer can submit one ingredient schedule covering multiple products, monthly tonnage, specifications, packaging, delivery locations and call-off dates. Each line remains subject to source approval and availability.

Can Duara Group support a new animal-feed business?

Yes, by sourcing the ingredients on the business's approved formulation or ingredient list. Duara Group does not replace a qualified animal nutritionist and does not create or certify feed formulas through this page.

Can feed ingredients be supplied on a recurring schedule?

Recurring procurement can be assessed from monthly tonnage, specification, storage capacity, destination and required frequency. Supply continuity, pricing basis and delivery terms are confirmed commercially.

What information is needed for an animal-feed ingredient quotation?

Provide the ingredient, quantity, specification, packaging, delivery location, required date and recurring frequency. Include COA, mycotoxin, microbiological, origin or regulatory requirements where they apply.
